Description
A simple, high-protein snack made with cottage cheese, berries, and honey that stabilizes blood sugar and keeps you full without the afternoon crash.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (226g) cottage cheese (full-fat recommended)
- 1/2 cup (75g) fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries)
- 1 tablespoon (21g) honey
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds (optional)
- 1 teaspoon nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans, toasted), optional
Instructions
- Drain the cottage cheese in a fine-mesh strainer for 5-10 minutes to remove excess whey and improve texture.
- Stir the cottage cheese in a bowl to break up large curds.
- Add fresh berries on top of the cottage cheese.
- Drizzle honey over the berries and cottage cheese.
- Sprinkle chia seeds and toasted nuts on top.
- Gently fold everything together to distribute the honey evenly.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
For best texture, drain the cottage cheese to remove whey. Use full-fat cottage cheese for a creamier taste. If using frozen berries, thaw them slightly first. This recipe is naturally gluten-free; ensure toppings like granola are certified gluten-free if needed.
