Description
A refreshing, calming summer drink made with just five simple ingredients: culinary lavender, raw honey, espresso, milk, and ice. It offers a floral, earthy sweetness without artificial syrups.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender
- 2–3 tablespoons raw honey
- 2 ounces strong espresso or strong coffee
- 1 cup milk of choice (whole, oat, almond, etc.)
- 1 cup ice cubes
- Optional: Fresh lavender sprig or drizzle of honey for garnish
Instructions
- Brew 2 ounces of strong espresso or coffee. If using instant espresso, dissolve 2 teaspoons in 2 ounces of boiling water.
- Add 1 tablespoon of dried culinary lavender to the hot coffee and let it steep for 3-4 minutes.
- Strain the coffee to remove all lavender buds and set aside to cool slightly.
- While the coffee is still hot, whisk in 2-3 tablespoons of raw honey until completely dissolved.
- Fill a tall glass to the top with ice cubes.
- Pour the honey-lavender coffee over the ice, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
- Slowly pour in the cold milk to create layers.
- Stir gently before drinking to mix the layers. Garnish with fresh lavender or honey if desired.
Notes
Do not over-steep the lavender (3-4 minutes max) to avoid a soapy taste. Always dissolve honey in hot coffee, not cold milk. For a vegan version, substitute honey with maple syrup or agave nectar and use plant-based milk. The drink is best enjoyed fresh.
