Pineapple Rum Punch: Easy 4-Ingredient Labor Day Drink

  • Author: Emily
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Description

A refreshing, make-ahead tropical punch perfect for summer parties and Labor Day gatherings. This easy recipe balances sweet pineapple and orange juice with rum and a grenadine swirl for a stunning visual effect.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups pineapple juice (100% pure)
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 1.5 cups white or gold rum
  • 1 cup grenadine
  • Ice (large cubes or spheres recommended)
  • Optional garnishes: pineapple chunks, orange slices, maraschino cherries, fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  1. Chill the pineapple juice, orange juice, and rum in the refrigerator or freezer for 15-20 minutes before mixing.
  2. In a large pitcher or punch bowl, combine the 6 cups of pineapple juice and 2 cups of orange juice. Stir well to blend.
  3. Pour in the 1.5 cups of rum and stir gently but thoroughly to combine.
  4. Slowly pour the 1 cup of grenadine into the center of the punch. Do not stir immediately; let it sink to the bottom to create a sunset effect.
  5. Add ice to the punch bowl. If using regular cubes, add them just before serving to prevent dilution.
  6. Add fruit garnishes such as pineapple chunks and orange slices.
  7. Serve immediately using a ladle or large spoon, ensuring each serving gets some of the grenadine from the bottom.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the rum. Taste test before serving to adjust sweetness; add lemon juice if too sweet or more grenadine if too tart. The punch can be made up to 24 hours in advance (without ice) and stored in the refrigerator. Use large ice cubes to minimize dilution.
