Description
A thick, creamy, and high-protein breakfast smoothie made with frozen strawberries, bananas, Greek yogurt, and protein powder. It provides sustained energy and a milkshake-like texture without being overly sweet.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 cups frozen strawberries (200g)
- 1 large ripe banana (120g), frozen
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (120g)
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup milk of choice (almond, oat, or whole milk) (120-180ml)
- 1 scoop protein powder (vanilla or unflavored) (30g)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds or flax seeds (10g)
- 1/2 cup ice (optional, if fruit isn’t frozen enough)
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
Instructions
- Ensure strawberries and bananas are frozen. If using fresh fruit, freeze chunks on a baking sheet for at least 2 hours.
- Add liquid (milk) to the blender first, followed by Greek yogurt, frozen strawberries, frozen banana chunks, chia seeds, and protein powder.
- Blend on low speed for 10-15 seconds to break up the frozen fruit.
- Gradually increase to high speed and blend for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth.
- Check consistency; if too thick, add milk one tablespoon at a time. If too thin, add more frozen fruit or ice.
- Taste and adjust sweetness with honey or maple syrup if needed.
- Pour immediately into a glass or travel tumbler and serve fresh.
Notes
For extra thickness, freeze Greek yogurt in ice cube trays and use them instead of liquid milk. Pre-portion frozen fruit and protein powder into bags for quick morning prep. Smoothies are best consumed fresh to prevent separation.
