Description
A simple, creamy, and sweet iced coffee recipe that replicates popular cafe drinks using just heavy cream, vanilla extract, and simple syrup. Ready in 5 minutes and perfect for a morning pick-me-up.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon simple syrup (or honey/agave)
- 2 cups cold brew coffee or chilled strong brewed coffee
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and simple syrup.
- Whisk vigorously until well combined and slightly frothy, ensuring the mixture is smooth and pourable.
- Prepare the coffee: If using cold brew concentrate, dilute to desired strength. If using regular coffee, brew strong and chill completely.
- Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
- Pour the cold coffee over the ice, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
- Slowly pour the vanilla sweet cream mixture over the back of a spoon to let it float on top of the coffee.
- Serve immediately with a straw. Stir as you drink to mix the cream with the coffee.
Notes
Ensure both the coffee and the cream mixture are cold to prevent the cream from sinking. Use pure vanilla extract for best flavor. The cream mixture can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 5 days. Do not freeze as the dairy will separate.
